"Join us for the 4th Annual East Hill Witches Ride as we pedal our 'brooms' through the neighborhood, making stops along the way." That line from the East Hill Neighborhood Association's event page opens what's left of East Hill's fall season.
As of mid-October 2026, that season is short. The association has posted four dates between now and the end of the year. The public events among them happen on or near North 12th Avenue. That's the same street where a renovated block reopened in September and where a new taco shop arrived earlier in the year. Here's the full calendar, the details that change how each date works, and what hasn't been posted yet.
Four Dates Left, Three of Them on 12th Avenue
These are all the dates the East Hill Neighborhood Association has on its calendar for the rest of 2026.
| Date | Day | Event | Time | Location |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Oct. 31 | Saturday | East Hill Witches Ride | Noon to 5 p.m. | Starts at The Burrow, 1010 N. 12th Ave. |
| Nov. 3 | Tuesday | Fall Fun Harvest Market and Manna Food Pantry Drive | 3 to 6 p.m. | Cordova Square Park, 1101 N. 12th Ave. |
| Nov. 9 | Monday | EHNA members and board meeting | 5:30 to 7 p.m. | Bayview Park Community Center |
| Dec. 1 | Tuesday | Holiday Makers Market | 3 to 6 p.m. | Cordova Square Park, 1101 N. 12th Ave. |
The Burrow is at 1010 N. 12th Ave. and Cordova Square Park is at 1101 N. 12th Ave., so the ride's starting point and the market grounds are about a block apart. Only the November members meeting moves to Bayview. The rest of East Hill's fall happens along a short stretch of 12th Avenue.
Oct. 31 Is a Saturday, and the Witches Ride Is Built for Adults
Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so the ride gets a full afternoon. The association's event listing lays out the schedule:
- Noon: Riders gather at The Burrow, where DJ Al runs a patio party.
- 12:15 p.m.: Costume contestants need to be there by now.
- 12:30 p.m.: Costume and broom judging. Prizes go to Most Witchy Outfit and Best Broom, which means best bike decor.
- 1 p.m.: The ride heads out.
- The stops: Alga Beer Co., East Hill Wine Bar and Wisteria Tavern, with about 45 minutes at each. Food and drinks are paid for individually.
A few rules matter before you go. RSVP is required through the association's registration page, and the ride is bicycles only, with no motorized vehicles. The event is free. The association asks for donations to help cover costs and takes them online, through Venmo at @ihearteasthill, or in cash or check on site.
Every stop is a tavern or bar, so the association discourages bringing children on this ride. The ride runs while it's light out and finishes by 5 p.m. That makes it a midday event on a Saturday when most other Halloween plans start after dark.
The association's page doesn't map a route between the three stops. Registering is the way to get the latest details.
The Tuesday Markets Run 3 to 6, and the Clock Changes Before November's
The fall Makers Market series started Oct. 6 with the Spooktacular at Cordova Square Park. Local Pulse previewed it with more than 40 local artisans, plus food trucks, live music, kids' activities and a photo booth. Two markets are left, and each one has its own theme.
- Nov. 3, Fall Fun Harvest Market: This one doubles as a food drive for Manna Food Pantries, so bring donations along with your shopping.
- Dec. 1, Holiday Makers Market: The last market of the series, timed for holiday gift shopping.
Both markets run on a Tuesday from 3 to 6 p.m., which Local Pulse called an easy after-school outing. Like all East Hill Neighborhood Association events, they're free and open to the public.
The association's listings show a timing detail. The Witches Ride is posted in Central Daylight Time and both remaining markets are posted in Central Standard Time. Clocks fall back between the two, so the 3 to 6 p.m. window on Nov. 3 and Dec. 1 ends closer to dark than the October market did. If you're planning a late stop on the way home from work, expect the final hour at Cordova Square to be in fading light.
Vendor registration was still open for the fall series as of Local Pulse's Sept. 30 preview. Makers who want a booth for November or December can sign up at myeasthill.org/market.
The Street Itself Changed This Fall
If you've walked 12th Avenue lately, you've seen work besides event setup. On Sept. 15, the block of 12th Avenue between Sacred Heart Cathedral School and the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart reopened after renovation. The Pensacola News Journal photographed the ceremony, where Bishop William A. Wack blessed the workers and the newly paved street with holy water.
The same photos show that the project wasn't finished on reopening day. Crews were still repaving during the ceremony, and the paper's captions described the renovated streetscape as nearing completion. Designs for the new streetscape were on display along the block that day. The PNJ coverage gives no finish date, so there may still be finishing work going on during the fall events.
Farther north, there's a new place to eat at 3000 N. 12th Ave. The Pensacola News Journal's roundup of 2026 restaurant openings included Pen-Taco-La in the former Tacos Mexicanos space and named Pablo Hernandez as owner. The roundup ran June 3 and didn't give an exact opening date. Pen-Taco-La sits well north of the Cordova Square blocks, so it works for a separate trip rather than a walk from the market.
There's also a familiar name in other news. East Hill Pizza opened a second location on July 29 at 6705 Pine Forest Road, Suite 500, according to the Pensacola News Journal. A later PNJ roundup identified Justin and Kristen Deese as the owners. The new location is outside the neighborhood, but it carries the East Hill name across town.
What Isn't on the Calendar Yet
Some East Hill traditions have no 2026 dates yet. The association runs Bands on the Bayou and Big Screen on the Bayou, but its Big Screen on the Bayou page describes the series in general terms and lists no fall 2026 dates.
Two items from last year haven't reappeared either. On Oct. 24, 2025, the association held a Business 2 Community Expo, Trick or Treat and Movie Night at Bayview Community Center, and on Dec. 2, 2025, it paired the Makers Market with a tree lighting. As of this writing, neither has a 2026 listing on the association's events page. The Dec. 1 Holiday Makers Market falls on almost the same week as last year's tree lighting, so check back closer to the date.
Bayview Park has had maintenance work too. In an Aug. 27 release, the City of Pensacola said it planned to resurface the park's six tennis courts in phases, starting the week of Sept. 7. The city estimated about 10 days of work, weather permitting. We couldn't find a city notice saying the work is done, so check the courts before you plan a match around them.
The Nov. 9 members meeting at Bayview Park Community Center, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., is the association's only posted event at the park this fall.
