The City of Milton, the county seat of Santa Rosa County, is located in the western Florida Panhandle. Adjacent to the Blackwater River. Milton is a designated Florida Main Street Community and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Milton has a close relationship with the military, great schools, shopping, eateries, and low crime rate makes it a great place to live.
 
In Milton, they value their cultural heritage. Historical sites include Bagdad Village Museum, Bagdad Mill Site, Blackwater Heritage Trail, Arcadia Mill, and the West Florida Railroad Museum to name a few. The Riverwalk Park is a venue that hosts many events in Milton; Th of July celebration, annual festivals, parades, and bands on the blackwater; where various bands play each Friday night with food vendor and plenty of space for the kids to play it is a fun family experience. Other parks to see are the Blackwater State Park, Gill-Bass Park, and the Veteran’s Memorial Plaza.
 
Besides parks and history Milton is a progressive city that continues to grow. Pensacola State College has a campus here and there are many more colleges in the area for an easy commute for students. There are six area Aviation focused military installations here including Naval Air Station Whiting Field. Local industrial parks provide local employment opportunities if you need to commute the interstate is easily accessible.
 
The Milton Community Center offers sports programs for kids from cheerleading to basketball, planning a business meeting, or a family event? they have spaces to fit you needs for small fee. The Senior program at the center has activities like bingo, tai chi, lunch and learn and the list goes on.
